The Adelaide public can recognize quality when they see it. At Hindmarsh last night the very first issue of BoaPT got snapped up like marbles by the hordes of hungry hungry hippos making their way towards the turnstiles.

If you missed out, don’t worry: you can download a copy of the zine, right here, free of charge. Donate via the tab above if you think it’s worth it, every bit helps. Enjoy being a part of FANZINE HISTORY!

Nearpost Radio

I had to go to our nation’s capital last week for work. While I was there I caught up with Eamonn Flanagan, notable Canberra football maven, for a curry and a chat about football.

Eamonn’s an impressive guy – as well as basically bringing together the Canberra A-League bid, he writes a blog at nearpost.blogspot.com, hosts a weekly radio show (podcasts can be downloaded from the blog site), coaches his daughter’s junior team, and basically gets involved with football at all levels in the ACT. He’s also got an idea in the works for a national football fanzine, bringing together writers from all parts of the country to write about the A-League and other domestic football issues.

Here’s a download of this week’s Nearpost radio show - at 18:40 Eamonn interviews me about BOAPT and Adelaide’s chances for the year (bear in mind I had a curry and a few beers in me at that point)…

Preseason Youtube Tease

With the start of the season (and, more importantly, the launch of BOAPT Issue 1) quickly approaching, it’s time to start thinking football again.

Adelaide United’s squad is shaping up quite nicely, with a host of new faces in the team including Lloyd Owusu, Adam Hughes and Shin In-Sup jetting in from abroad, and local young’uns Michael Marrone, Joseph Costa and Francesco Monterosso stepping up into the senior side.

There’s been a bit of preseason action already – here are some highlights from Hindmarsh:

Support us!

I think it should go without saying that, when it comes to making an A-League fanzine, we’re not in it for the money. The problem is, of course, that the printing and distribution of these things ain’t free.

You can show your support for independent, fan-generated football media and help us to cover production costs by donating via the PayPal button on this site.

If you want to help out in other ways, or if you’re interested in advertising in BOAPT, drop us a line at pissanttown@gmail.com.
